Matt Bomer will be joining the “Freak Show.”
The “White Collar” star has been added to the cast of “American Horror Story” for one episode, Ryan Murphy revealed this weekend.
Murphy has worked with Bomer previously on his shows “The New Normal” and “Glee,” where Bomer played Darren Criss’ character’s older borther, as well as HBO’s “Normal Heart,” for which Bomer is up for an Emmy. Murphy told Entertainment Weekly, which first broke the news, that he had to work around Bomer’s schedule for the upcoming “Magic Mike” sequel to secure the role.
Bomer joins several newcomers, including “The Hunger Games” actor Wes Bentley, Michael Chiklis, “The Normal Heart’s” Finn Wittrock, “Fargo’s” John Carroll Lynch, the world’s smallest living woman Jyoti Amge and Patti LaBelle. The returning cast includes Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Gabourey Sidibe.
The official description for “Freak Show” is as follows: “Freak Show begins its tale in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Florida. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.”
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” is set to premiere on FX Oct. 8. Watch the latest creepy teaser for the show below.
