  • Virgin Media celebrates launching Vintage TV to its channel line-up
Virgin Media has today announced the addition of Vintage TV (channel 343) to its TV service and its availability to all its 3.8million pay TV customers. To celebrate the launch Virgin Media scoured the country to uncover which music legends the UK would most love to spend time with and rock gods Queen broke free from the rest of the competition.

Vintage TV hosts an exhilarating and diverse range of original music programming and classic concert footage, together with full-length interview features, 'rockumentaries', and a variety of informative and entertaining new shows

Queen topped the number one spot with a significant proportion of the votes, showing the enduring appeal of anthems such as We Will Rock You and Bohemian Rhapsody. Star man David Bowie shot into second place, no doubt thanks to his iconic hits Let’s Dance and Ziggy Stardust, as well as recent new material.

Pop legend Stevie Wonder won’t be worrying ‘bout a thing as he scooped up third place and Fleetwood Mac went their own way into fourth position. Surprisingly, 90s rock and roll star favourites Oasis trailed behind in fifth place. Let’s hope they don’t look back in anger.

Virgin Media’s top ten bands Brits would most like to spend 15 minutes with
  1. Queen
  2. David Bowie
  3. Stevie Wonder
  4. Fleetwood Mac
  5. Oasis
  6. Bryan Adams
  7. ELO
  8. Joy Division
  9. Don Mclean
  10. The Undertones
Richard Wheeler, head of content acquisition at Virgin Media said, “Queen still proves the show must go on as the UK continues to enjoy some of the best songs from the last century on Vintage TV.”

David Pick, Founder and CEO Vintage Entertainment Limited said, “Vintage TV fulfils the appetite of the UK’s music lovers for the very best content – music that stands the test of time! We’re absolutely delighted to be making our channel available for Virgin Media customers.”
