Mika New Single "Celebrate" [Review]

Mika Unveils Video for New Single "Celebrate" featuring Pharrell [Review]

What makes Mika stand out head and shoulders from the rest of the pop pack is his finely-tuned gift for infusing his music with a childlike innocence and genuine joy. It's as if he discovers the world and its beauty for the very first time, and he shares those moments for everyone to enjoy. In other words, he wants "the whole world to celebrate" and spread his cheer around like confetti. That artistic point of view will continue on his forthcoming new album, entitled "The Origin Of Love," that the singer likes to describe as a record "about crazy love songs and tolerance."

After looking at "life in cartoon motion" and singing about "the boy who knew too much," Mika's new album is shaping up to be his most personal to day. Refreshed and rejuvenated, his new music once again relishes in simple joy but appears to hit a lot closer to home for the British singer. His new single "Celebrate" is a perfect example of that. "This single is what happens when you combine a 22 year old you find online, Fryars, with an extra-planetary Nick Littlemore and Pharrell Williams," Mika says about the song in a press release.

Mika adds, "Written by me, Pharrell and Fryars and produced by Nick, this kind of collaboration is only possible when everyone throws themselves into it wanting to have fun and without any ego. This collective and open attitude was at the heart of 'The Origin Of Love.' It was recorded in Miami and London but mostly in Fryars' north London bedroom studio."

In the fun new video for "Celebrate," Mika is shown working his way through a serious case of writer's block in his New York City loft with footage of the singer writing lyrics on sheets of papers trying to find the right words. He stares out of the window and heads into the city to find inspiration to end up on a dancefloor. Matching the happy outburst in the song, right at the 2:36 minute mark, Mika finds a break-through and knows exactly what to write. "Once again, I pull myself together and I remember those two letters, I will be OK," Mika sings, and shares a simple yet powerful truth that can never be repeated too much. (Mika "Celebrate" featuring Pharrell will released on September 30.)

Mika Is Gay, Finally

Mika Is Gay, Finally

We hesitate to call it “coming out,” because, well, come on.

But for some reason, popstar Mika has always been a bit cagey about his personal life: ”labels are the one thing that I’ve never agreed with — simply because I just don’t fit into them in my own personal life,” and “call me bisexual,” he’s said in the past, echoing Boy George 20 years ago.

But apparently he’s warming up to labels and cooling to ladies, at least according to an upcoming Instinct article. “If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah,” he tells the magazine. Oh, okay!

We are happy for you, Mika. Not just because it is nice to hear you talking unreservedly about your life, but also because this brings our fantasy of you making out with Rufus Wainwright one step closer to fruition. Now kiss!

That's it, Mika is assumed completely! In an interview with an American magazine, the singer Relax, Take It Easy has finally formalized his homosexuality.

It's in September that will release the highly anticipated third album by Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr., aka  Mika,, entitled The origin of love, whose first single is Celebrate. But that's a different news that speaks to the singer's high-pitched voice, of Lebanese origin. Indeed, the spirited young man decided two things: first, to disappoint his fans from the fairer sex who sighed with love for him, the second is to give hope to his fans more virile. Clearly, this is it, Mika has said himself ... tatatiiiiin: he's gay! Oh la la, the big news here is that ... Well almost as few days ago, he had dedicated his album "the boy who knew too much," during a live in Britain, in a predominantly gay club. These indications had not failed to raise any question among the sharpest detectives.

Mika has officially made its coming out in the American magazine instinct, as reported by the site Têtu: "If you ask me if I'm gay, I would answer yes. These songs are they talking about a relationship with a man? I say yes. and only through my music that I found the strength to accept my sexuality beyond the simple context of my lyrics. Here is my real life. ", told the artist that sold twenty million records since its inception in the international musical landscape in 2007. Mika, one imagines that this announcement will have the gift of cutting the grass under the feet of journalists that focused a little too much, he said, but on unknown aspects of his supposed sexuality.

"If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah. Are these songs about my relationship with a man? I say yeah. And it's only through my music that I've found the strength to come to terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This is my real life."
Pop star Mika comes out fully in an exclusive interview with Instinct, to appear in the magazine's September issue. So far only this teaser has been released.

EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK: Mika Tells Instinct, “Yeah, I’m gay.”

Written by Instinct Staff | Friday, 03 August 2012

Many likely remember a 2009 Dutch magazine cover featuring pop star Mika with the sprawling headline “Mika Clears Things Up: Call Me Bisexual.”

The only problem was that the story, which he calls “disappointing,” didn’t clear things up at all because it wasn’t exactly what he intended to say.

Earlier this week, in a world exclusive, Mika sat down with Instinct to set the record straight (so to speak):
“If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah. Are these songs about my relationship with a man? I say yeah. And it’s only through my music that I’ve found the strength to come to terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This is my real life.”

For more with Mika, including his first public comments about his relationship and the role he feels celebrities play as representatives for the LGBT community, check out the upcoming September issue of Instinct Magazine—coming soon.

Soft and warm tones

I realised I haven't mentioned about Mika. He reminds me of Freddie Mercury. I'm a huge fan of Freddie and I don't think no one can be replaced for him though, when I heard his music at first time, they reminded me of Freddie. I reckon he has colourful voice and he has a talent. I actually think his way of composing music is totally different from him and his way of singing isn't similar to him even, but I can't explain why I feel that. He creates catchy pop-songs but it's not only catchy. I don't have enough vocabulary to express about his works unfortunately.
